General Settings

Inside the “Settings” submenu, the first tab is for the “General” settings. Let’s look into its various options and the effects they will bring in setting up a directory website.

Bootstrap options

“Advanced Classifieds and Directory Pro” uses Bootstrap 3 CSS framework for the directory front-end design. By default, the plugin will load all the required CSS & JS files from Bootstrap. If your theme uses Bootstrap, then you can disable the following options. So they are not loaded twice.

  • Include bootstrap CSS
  • Include bootstrap JavaScript libraries
Listing duration (in days)

The number of days a listing should be shown on your website. Use a value of “0” to keep a listing alive indefinitely.

Enable locations

Base location

This will be a dropdown option and populated using the LOCATION items you’ve created under your “WordPress Admin Panel => Classifieds & Directory => Locations”

Let us assume that you have the following locations tree structure under the Plugin’s Locations menu. But, your directory is only for USA and you like to keep only the locations under USA. Then, simply select “USA” from this select field and this will change your directory to USA. The other locations like “CANADA”, “Toronto” or “Ottawa” will not get displayed anywhere in your website.

To show all the locations, revert back to the default selection “– Select a location –”

  • USA
    • New York
    • Chicago
  • CANADA
    • Toronto
    • Ottawa
Default location

This setting allows you to configure the location that should be selected by default when adding a new listing.
